Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Poehling will be sidelined for six to eight weeks with an MCL sprain, the team announced Tuesday.
Poehling, 27, crashed knee-first into the post while rushing the net during Saturday's 4-2 road win against the Calgary Flames.
He scored his first two points of the season in that game, recording a goal and an assist before leaving with the injury.
Poehling has 133 points (55 goals, 78 assists) in 363 career games with four teams. He is in his second season with Anaheim.
The Ducks placed Poehling on injured reserve and brought up 2025 first-round pick Roger McQueen from AHL San Diego.
McQueen, 20, has three goals through four games at San Diego and could make his NHL debut Tuesday against the visiting Flames.
