Defenseman Philip Broberg broke a tie in the third period and added an assist to give the host St. Louis Blues a 2-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Jimmy Snuggerud also scored for the Blues, who had lost their previous two games. Joel Hofer made 32 saves.

Cole Perfetti scored for the Jets, who have lost three straight and four of their last five. Stuart Skinner stopped 25 shots.

Broberg scored the winner on the power play at 8:47 of the third period, blasting a one-time slap shot from above the high slot off a pass from Robert Thomas along the left-wing boards. Broberg, the game's first star, finished with six shots, a blocked shot and a takeaway in a team-high 23:41 of ice time.

Perfetti tied the game at 1, 32 seconds into the third period. His backhand shot, as he cut across the top of the crease, deflected off Broberg's stick and past Hofer three seconds after the Winnipeg power play ended.

Snuggerud's goal with 7:30 left in the first period gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead. Dylan Holloway's pass from the right circle went in off Snuggerud's skate in front of the net.

Holloway had some bad luck less than three minutes earlier when a screened slot shot hit Skinner in the glove, even though the Winnipeg goalie didn't appear to see the puck.

The game featured a matchup between brothers Morgan Barron, a Jets forward, and Justin Barron, a Blues defenseman.

Otto Stenberg and Aleksanteri Kaskimaki were in the lineup for St. Louis after being recalled from AHL Springfield. They both skated on the fourth line, with Pius Suter at center between them, and played in key situations.

The Blues placed Ross Johnston (lower body) on injured reserve Monday.
