The Dallas Stars signed goaltender Casey DeSmith to a two-year, $5 million contract extension.
The deal announced Wednesday with the 35-year-old veteran covers the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons.
"Extending Casey has been a priority for us, and we're excited to have him locked up for two more years," general manager Jim Nill said. "He's been incredibly reliable during his time with our organization, and we are looking forward to the tandem of Casey and Jake (Oettinger) continuing to anchor our team moving forward."
DeSmith was 15-8-6 with one shutout, a .2.43 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 30 games with the Stars last season. He is 99-69-29 with 13 shutouts, a 2.74 GAA and a .910 save percentage in 220 career games with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2017-23), Vancouver Canucks (2023-24) and Dallas.
The Stars open the regular season on Friday against the visiting St. Louis Blues.
